Milton consists of a wide variety of housing styles. About the Community

Milton is home to a great many conservation parks and recreational areas, all of which are owned by Conservation Halton. Some of these parks include Rattlesnake Point, Bruce Trail, Kelso Conservation Area, Mount Nemo Conservation Area, and the Milton Leisure Centre. Milton is also served by two public Libraries and is home to both the Halton Region Museum and the Halton County Radial Railway Museum. Milton also offers some local events, including a farmer’s market which operates from May through October; the Milton Steam-Era, an annual show to celebrate and recreate country life and 19th century steam engines; and the Milton Fall Fair, which includes events such as an agricultural show, Demolition Derby, and livestock.

Milton is well connected to the GTA via Highways 401 and 407. Milton Transit provides public bus service to residents throughout the town, and Go Transit provides regular commuter service eastward toward Toronto at the Milton Go Station along the Milton train line. Toronto Pearson International Airport is also easily accessible along Highway 401.

Schools in Milton

Milton is served by both the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board.

A number of elementary schools serve Milton from both school boards, including Bruce Trail Public School, P. L. Robertson Public School, Hawthorne Village Public School, Tiger Jeet Singh Public School, Guardian Angels Elementary School, Holy Rosary Elementary School, St. Peter’s Elementary School, and Our Lady of Victory Elementary School. Milton is served by two public high schools, Miton District High School and Craig Kielburger Secondary School, and two Catholic high schools, Bishop P. F. Reding Catholic Secondary School and Jean Vanier Secondary School. A number of Milton schools offer French Immersion and Extended French programs. In addition to this, Milton is also home to E.C. Drury School for the Deaf, a public school for students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, as well as a number of private schools.
