Originally a strong Methodist village, Sheridan is now a family friendly neighbourhood with a mixture of affordable family homes and larger, elite estates. About the Neighbourhood

Sheridan is roughly bounded by Dundas St. W and the QEW in the north and south, and Winston Churchill Blvd. and the Credit River in the west and east. The area is divided into three distinct neighbourhoods: Sheridan Homelands, Sherwood Forest, and Mississauga Road. The Sheridan Homelands area west of Erin Mills Parkway consists primarily of detached and semi-detached 2-storey and back split homes. Homes in this area tend to be older, with most homes being 40 years old or older. The remaining neighbourhoods of Sheridan Forest and Mississauga Road consist of large family homes and executive homes. Homes in these areas boast large lots and are more expensive as a result.

About the Community

Sheridan is conveniently located adjacent to the QEW, and is close to Highway 403 to the west. Mississauga Transit provides public bus transportation to the area. The area is well-connected to public transportation, with multiple bus routes along the major roads and throughout the Sheridan Homelands area west of Erin Mills Parkway. The closest Go Stations are Clarkson Go Station along the Lakeshore West train line and the Cooksville or Erindale Go Stations along the Milton train line, all of which provide commuter service both westward and eastward toward Toronto.

The Sheridan Centre, located on Erin Mills Parkway, provides Sheridan residents access to a number of shopping venues. The Sheridan Centre is also home to the Sheridan Branch Library. The David Ramsey Outdoor Swimming Pool is open during the summer months for residents to enjoy. The Mississauga Golf and Country Club is located to the southeast of Sheridan, and offers a number of recreational activities, including curling, tennis, and golf. Sheridan is also home to a number of parks for residents to enjoy, such as Thornlodge Park and Bruce Reynolds Park.

Schools in Sheridan

There are a number of public schools that serve Sheridan. For elementary education, Sheridan is served by Sheridan Park Public School, Oakridge Public School, Homelands Sr. Public School, and Thorn Lodge Public School. Erindale Secondary School is the area’s public high school. Sheridan Park Public School, Hillcrest Public School, and Clarkson Secondary School offer French Immersion programs for Sheridan students. There are a number of Catholic schools serving Sheridan, such as St. Luke Elementary School and St. Francis of Assisi School. All of Sheridan is served by John Cabot Catholic Secondary School.
