Lisgar is located close to two major highways, the 401 and 407. Mississauga Transit provides public transportation to residents throughout Mississauga. Go Transit also provides commuter service to the area via Lisgar Go Station along the Milton train line, both eastward to Toronto and westward toward Milton.

Lisgar is conveniently located nearby various businesses and shopping centres, such as Meadowvale Town Centre, SmartCentres Meadowvale, and the Meadowvale Business Park. There are a number of parks and trails in the area, such as Trelawny Wood and Lisgar Meadow Brook Trail. Nearby Meadowvale Community Centre also provides fitness and recreational activities to the area.

A number of public schools serve Lisgar, including Osprey Woods Public School, Lisgar Middle School, Kindree Public School, and Trelawny Public School.
